March 2010 - A riddle for our readers
In this month ‘‘Oldies but Goodies’’ ministories series you may read a paper titled: ‘‘Forgotten old PT processes’’ Among them is the “blink PT” or “wink PT”.
This technique, as far as we know, is no longer used, though some older people have kept some memory of this process!
Nevertheless, as when talking about dinosaurs, we do not know exactly why this technique died out.
Maybe one of our readers may be of help quite soon ?
In our next month Editorial you will be given the answer from the reader(s) who would have answered
Sorry, nothing to win, except for our respect, admiration and esteem. A reminder of the American ‘60s pinball machines on which the warning “no prizes, no wagering” was written!
Should we get no answer we will let you know the most likely reason as even we are not sure of the answer.
Many thanks in advance for your help.
We foresaw it … but not for now!
In the December 2009 issue of our very accurate ‘‘Oldies but Goodies’’ series we presented a paper titled “These times when replacing penetrants is mandatory”.
Here and now is really ... the future of the past!
At the very same time a manufacturer of aircraft powerplants was issuing a new Qualified Products List which makes it mandatory to replace products no longer listed by products newly listed.
This manufacturer suggests his subcontractors to ask their suppliers to take back unused products still in their sealed cans/drums and to credit them when they buy the new products!
We may think the writer of this document read our paper and took inspiration from it!
Still the same motto: writing of a document is 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration.
