July 2010 - Penetrant Testing: water pressure in the rinsing/washing booths: a myth?
The last PRI-NADCAP newsletter highlights some parameters of a PT line that are of the utmost importance. The topic is about the shape of the water flow, and water pressure is also mentioned. In some way, this newsletter substantiates our last month’s paper titled: “The water pressure: a myth?”
Water pressure is only a piece of information; alone it is not enough to assure of the quality of washing.
We suggest you have a thorough look at both papers: PRI-NADACP’S and ours! Then … we guess you will be in trouble to know what exactly shall be done on a PT line to get the right result. A soon-to-be-published paper will also deal with unanticipated results in sensitivity, when water pressure and flow shape meet the requirements. You will then understand that things are not that simple when talking about PT!
10th European Conference on Non·Destructive Testing Moscow – June 2010
Though retired we are active in the NDT world, and we wrote a paper ‘‘Penetrant Testing and Year 2060’’ for the Moscow Conference. We thought we would present it by ourselves in June 2010, as in mid-2009 we were quite sure to get a financial help by some organisations we were in contact with.
We had been pre-registered, we had sent the abstracts, then the entire documents both in English and in Russian when we were told that the financial help would not come.
Due to the kindness of some or our Russian friends, nevertheless this conference has been given by a Russian engineer.
