February 2012 - UV Fading
"UV Fading" is an English term that we have just added to our PT lexicon(1).
This idea came to our minds when we saw, on a Website, a French translation of this term by "affadissement des indications", which could be translated by "whitening indications."
The French verb "affadir" means also to remove the taste from food (as could do an ill cook). So, the word, "affadissement" is not the right one.
By analogy to the term "Heat fading", which is listed in our PT lexicon, we translate the term "UV fading" in French by "atténuation (de la fluorescence) par les UV", which is closer to the phenomenon.
